Teresa Bellini

“In every painting a whole is mysteriously enclosed, a whole life of tortures, doubts, of hours of enthusiasm and inspiration.”” – Vassily Kandinsky

Born in Padua, Teresa studied Eastern languages at the Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice. Her passion for the East took her all the way to China, where she lived between the late 1980s and the early 1990s. Back in Italy, she worked in the translation industry for 20 years while raising her two children. Curious and passionate, Teresa loves music, water, reading, travelling.

However, her desire and need to paint have always been there, like a constant note playing in the background. She found in abstract painting her favorite form of expression which since 2021 has become a fundamental component of her life. She organised her solo exhibitions in Padua in May 2021 and May 2023. In the last two years she participated in several group exhibitions in Italy, Europe and New York.

Poetica

“Painting is a pure expression of freedom, instinct and harmony.”

Painting is as natural as breathing; it happens despite everything and while the world runs at its own pace. Teresa Bellini’s art came about suddenly, driven by a flow of emotions and memories, and by an urge to express them. Her choice of colours is instinctive, as is her taste for highly textural abstract painting. By mixing large overlapping colour fields and more formal painting, Teresa creates intense emotional landscapes where the observers can immerse and lose themselves.
